THE JOURNEY
For this one-day residency, a traditional red double-decker Routemaster bus was commissioned as a vehicle to explore alternative modes of arts practice and audience engagement in public spaces.
THE PROCESS
As the bus travelled from King’s Cross to Southend-on-Sea and back again,
The Journey itself is the artwork, as it evolves through the process of becoming.
MULTIPLICITIES
The Journey concerns itself with the multiplicities of time, the machine, process, networks and relationships.
EXPANDING THE ARTIST STUDIO
Research and experimentation were undertaken on-board this moving bus from multiple perspectives, using whatever materials and technologies we each choose.
COMMUNITY & AUDIENCE ENGAGEMENT
By investigating alternative forms of artistic practice, production and spaces through exchange and collaboration with The Other MA (TOMA), based at Metal in Southend, The Journey continued to manifest itself in fascinating and surprising ways.
